Activities > Ardmaddy Castle Garden
Ardmaddy rises above its formal walled garden on one side with outstanding views of the Islands on the other. Visitors approach the garden by an old arched footbridge over a burn finding its final path to the sea. A fine collection of species and hybrid rhododendrons, azaleas and climbing plants line the walls with a continually increasing variety of shrubs and herbaceous perennials. Between dwarf box hedges flourish a wide range of interesting vegetables and cane fruits which are grown using labour-saving methods.

Ardmaddy Castle Garden
Walks with exceptional colour in autumn through mixed shrubs, trees and spring flowering bulbs lead on to the water gardens and up into bluebell woods among which are some fine rhododendrons more than half a century old. Recent "clock garden" with cutting flowers, stone and water features add to the interest of this ever evolving garden.
Wide variety of plants for sale and seasonal vegetables and berries.
