Activities > Ardnamurchan Natural History Centre
At the Ardnamurchan Natural History Centre you will find an introduction to the natural environment of the peninsula. The focal point is an award winning interactive exhibition housed in the 'Living Building' where you can; Crawl through a wildcat tunnel, Search for the creatures of the "Nightwood" Discover if the pine marten is in its den, Study the underwater world of a Highland lochan and See live CCTV pictures of a heron's nest and what lurks under the surface of the River Glenmore.
The gift and bookshop is housed in a unique Douglas fir building with a vaulted ceiling and hand-carved oak door handles featuring native wildlife. Our selected stock, much of it produced in Scotland, is based on a wildlife theme and features items from 20p to £200. Our gift range is complemented by an extensive array of books, CD's and tapes celebrating Scotland's history, wildlife, recipes and music, as well as a wide variety of local postcards & prints. In addition we have a wide range of Scottish preserves and confectionery. Browsers are welcome - come and enjoy
The Antler Tearoom serves a wide variety of quality homemaking and light lunches based on traditional Scottish recipes. We can serve you at our picnic tables with fine views of Glenmore Bay or relax in our sunny conservatory, beneath the Black Hamburg Grapevine and enjoy a taste of something special. Alternatively we can provide a "take-away" service so you can enjoy our baking wherever you choose. Children are welcome and a high chair is available on request.
